Life has yet again gotten in the way of art, yet it has provoked art as well.

I spent the last two months in a place called Leland, MI, as a nanny.  I can't believe I went back to being a nanny after the exhaustion of last summer.  But this was a different situation, and a very benefiting experience.  I learned so much this summer that I can't even begin to explain.  That, and I earned enough money not only to pay my rent for the next year, but also splurge on a big new bed.  I was looking forward to getting new sheets as well, but I think I'll just take the "hand-me-downs" from home to save a bit.  

I've found so many new aspects of myself.  I hope they come through, I hope you can see them too.

There's been a three month lull here for me.  November was spent falling in love and studying, December was spent being in love and studying and then traveling to Australia.  January was spent being far away from the boy I love and traveling in Australia.  Now I'm back in Oshkosh, studying and working.  The boy I love comes to see me often, and I go to see him when I can.  March he will leave for Germany.  We have wonderful timing.  But at least then I will focus on my classes and work and building my portfolio.

I started my media photography class, and I can tell that it will be quite boring for a while as we cover the basics I was taught three years ago.  It worried me when the girl I sat next to said, "I don't know what kind of camera I have." I know exactly what I have, when it was made, when the company stopped making that model and moved on to the next.  It frightens me when editing students take photography.  Then again I was a photo student in editing, but only because I had to be.  I'm buying a digital in March.  Oy.  It will help with classes, the job at the paper, and just having a digital as a back up.  (I find it funny that I'm buying a $600 backup for a $80 camera)

So yes, I shall submit Aussie photos as soon as I have the time to scan them.

As of this Saturday I'll be traveling to Australia.

All activity (what there was of it anyway) will cease until late January/early Feb.

Merry Holidays and Merry New Year!

Carnivale was a wonderful event last night.  I took 77 frames on both 400 and 200 speed color.  I suppose I'll bike to Walgreen's tomorrow to drop off the film and get my groceries at the same time.
